The role that volunteers play within Local Government is evident to all. Local Government Volunteers Programs ensure a direct link between the community and a Council and offer a myriad of core services by encouraging:

• Community participation
• Access to resources and information
• Social interaction and satisfaction
• Participation in established Council services and events
• Viability to core Council business.

Volunteers are needed in Local Government to assist with zoning, planning, and other boards or committees that help to make decisions for the Township.
